Winter Soltice Reflections

Twas the night before Winter Solstice, and all through the home,
not a child nor animal was suffering,
and, "BLISS", replaced "OWE".

Vegetarian porridge was simmering
on a clean burning stove,
while handmade ornaments were hung
on a living tree-aglow.

The fireplace was blazing,
the candles warm scent,
cozy blankets swaddling,
all loved ones content.

Yes, Winter Solstice is here,
the time to reflect,
a time for rebirth,
the time to reconnect.

What have you accomplished this year?
What dreams have been met?
How have you served
with Love, and with respect?

Breath of Love, the bond between a parent and child

Hipparchus (ca. 190-ca.120 BCE), well known for his wisdom and insight, discovered the immediate precession of the equinoxes, the slow movement among the stars of the two opposite places where the sun actually crosses the celestial equator. This fine gentleman made incredible observations of the actual equinox itself, and of the solstice.

Today, astronomers use equinoctial points to orchestrate their framework of reference. The actual movements of these points (the Vernal Point and the Autumnal Point) is measured by the position of a star with the date of that actual measurement. This then provides them with the information they need to record their observations.

Ah Summer!

Ah summer.  The long, luxurious days of rest and relaxation and total commitment to doing absolutely nothing but completely relinquish all thoughts, all forms of chaos and let the sublime feelings of bliss transcend through every cell, through every pore of our bodies.
